Prime Minister Victor Ponta on Tuesday said that the friendship with the People’s Republic of China represents a great opportunity for Romania and the development of the political, economic and cultural cooperation between the two states must continue, informs Agerpres.
‘For a country like Romania, being friends with China, not only the most populated country worldwide, the second economy and one of the most important players on the international scene, is a great opportunity and I believe that we must make the most of this opportunity and continue to develop the political, economic and cultural cooperation for the benefit of both people,’ Ponta pointed out in the speech delivered at the farewell reception organised by China’s Ambassador Huo Yuzhen.
‘During your and my mandate, because they have been more or less in the same period, I believe the relation between your country, the People’s Republic of China, and Romania developed in the right direction,’ Ponta stressed in his speech.
Deputy Prime Minister Gabriel Oprea and other members of the Cabinet, representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Bucharest, as well as various public figures also participated in the event.
We invite more Romanian products to join the Chinese market
Chinese Ambassador to Romania, Huo Yuzhen , enumerated in her speech a series of Romanian products that can be found on the Chinese market and urged other Romanian producers to join this market.
“These days Chinese citizens can taste in their homes Feteasca Neagra, the Romanian wine, and Borsec mineral water. This proves the interconnections between the Romanian and Chinese markets at all levels. We invite more Romanian products to join the Chinese market”, said the Chinese diplomat at the farewell reception that she organized at the headquarters of the Embassy.
Huo Yuzhen showed that the bilateral effort stimulated the “edifice of Romanian-Chinese relations to become more stable and spectacular “.
“Political confidence is like a roof over this edifice, it being the pilot that leads to bilateral relations to develop on a path of healthy development. (…) The functioning, without problems, of the cooperation mechanism, the confidence between the two states and reciprocal development grows every day, the good impetus of the Chinese-Romanian relations inspires us. The economic-commercial cooperation can be heralded as the backbone of this edifice that brought increased support for the continuous development of bilateral relations”, the Chinese official stated.
