Traian Băsescu cashes a retirement benefit of 8,200 RON

Ex-President Traian Basescu retired on 4 November 2014, according to his latest financial disclosure form dated 21 December 2014, posted on the website of the Presidential Administration.

Under the Income heading, the statement indicates that the former President of Romania retired on 4 November 2014 and cashed RON 5,166, representing the retirement befit for the months of November and December.

According to Romania TV, Traian Basescu’s total income after retirement will be RON 8,200, representing a mix of his retirement benefit based on the various offices held (RON 2,500) and his pay as former president, established by law (RON 5,700)

Traian Basescu is now 63. He served two terms as President of the country, from 2004 to 2014. Previously, he was Mayor of the City of Bucharest, member of the lower Chamber of Parliament and Minister of Transport. Before 1989 he was a ship captain.
