Traian Basescu, a nostalgic ship comander

Former President Traian Basescu ignores for now all speculations that have been made on his political future after leaving the Cotroceni Presidential  Palace after 10 years. In his last press conference as Romania’s head of state, the ex- President told journalists  that all he wanted was to go home to spend more time with family and grandchildren.

Moreover, since leaving the office of president, Basescu  has avoided to make any statement about his political intentions, and did not even answer to the invitations repeatedly expressed by the Popular Movement Party (PMP) leaders to welcome him in the party with the rank he deserves. Last statements in this respect have been expressed only two days ago by the PMP’s national leader Elena Udrea in an interview with RFI.

The only news in the last days about Traian Basescu  is that  he has retired since the 4th of November 2014on  his birthday.

However, until he will provide details about his future political intentions, Traian Basescu proves  that he is a nostalgic ship commander, as he posted on his Facebook account a few pictures with him dressed with the commander uniform .
