Magistrates of the Bucharest Court decided to issue a 30-day preventive arrest warrant on the two accounting experts involved in the file of Marian Oprisan, accused of planning the approach of the expertise together, in order to favour the defendants in the file.
Experts Ileana Roxana Cernea (Pintea) and Elena-Valentina Musuroiu were arrested on Saturday for favouring the defendant, abuse of office and intellectual forgery and, respectively, complicity to favouring the defendant and complicity to abuse of office.
The prosecutors of the National Anti-corruption Directorate (DNA) demanded the Bucharest Court to approve the preventive arrests of the two experts. The request was approved by the rights and liberties judge who issued arrest warrants of 30 days on the names of the two experts. The decision may be challenged at the Appeal Court of Bucharest.
At the beginning of June 2006, Marian Oprisan (PSD) was charged by DNA prosecutors in the “Deer” file for abuse of office, improper use if influence, forgery and counterfeit. Beside Oprisan, the file also included accusations against County Council President Mircea Diaconu, Economic Department Manager Valeria Teodorescu, Technical Department Manager Ion Costeanu and former Head of the Roads and Bridges Services in the Technical Department of the County Council Liviu Rusu.
