297 national defense exercises and 77 multinational defense exercises are planned this year at the level of the Army General Staff, relayed, on Monday, the Ministry of National Defense (MApN) through a release remitted to Agerpres.
Lieutenant-General Nicolae Ciuca, the head of the Army’s General Staff (SMG), has stated, on Monday, on the occasion of the official opening of the 2015 instruction year, that the objective for this year is continuing the process to restore the fighting capabilities of the Army.
“During the activity organized at the level of the SMG, Lieutenant-General Nicolae Ciuca stated that the objective for this year is continuing the process to restore the fighting capabilities of the Romanian Army, in order to ensure the defense and discouragement capabilities needed, in accordance with the contingency plans drawn up at the level of NATO by the strategic partners, as well as to fulfill, at the set deadlines, the military commitments assumed by Romania internationally”, the press release shows.
