Romanian consortium for Budapest subway modernization

Electroputere VFU – Reloc Craiova, part of Grampet Group, and Astra Vagoane Calatori SA Arad, are part of a consortium that is taking part in the tender organized by the Budapest City Hall for the modernization of subway cars, a press release informs. The maximum value of the modernization works stands at approximately EUR 205 M, the aforementioned document shows.

According to the information included in the communiqué, the Romanian consortium has filed the documents needed for the first stage of the tender, which is now in the pre-qualification stage. The negotiations on the contract and the designation of the winner will start after this stage is completed. The pre-qualification stage is expected to be finalized by the end of January. Apart from the Romanian consortium made up of Grampet Group’s member companies and Astra Arad, six other participants have filed their bids, including France’s Alstom, Czech Republic’s Skoda, as well as Russian and Hungarian companies.
