Deputy Ionut Stroe, new PNL spokesperson

National Liberal Party (PNL)  Deputy Ionut Stroe might be the new spokesperson for the Liberals. A decision in this respect  will be taken by the National Political Bureau of the party, due in Iasi on January 23, according to some political sources., quoted by Agerpres.

Ionut Stroe will replace thus Alina Gorghiu, who last year got elected chair of PNL.

Stroe was recommended for the job by Alina Gorghiu herself. He is representing the Dolj County as a Deputy, being the deputy leader of the parliamentary group of the Liberals in the Deputies Chamber and also a member in the committees on foreign and European affairs respectively.

The first meeting of the PNL National Political Bureau has been convened in  Iasi, where the party leaders are expected also to attend the celebrations for the Union Day, on January 24. According to Mediafax, the Liberal leadership should analyze the situation of vice presidents who have been in custody or sentenced, and how to distribute their mandates in the case they are vacant, to be occupied by the party members situated in the next positions on the list, following the votes at the PNL congress. One case is that of Liberal MP Mircea Rosca, a vice president of PNL, who is in the custody of police since November 20 last year. Another case is that of Artistotel Căncescu, PNL vice president and suspended chairman of the Braşov County Council, who is also in custody. In addition, the Liberal leadership will have to determine whether in the case of Botosani County Council President, Florin Turcan, who is also vice president of the Liberal Party, will apply a penalty after he was sentenced to six months of probation. According to the PNL congress votes, on the following positions of vice-presidents,  there are PNL senator Varujan Vosganian, and the Liberal deputy Cristina Pocora, Mediafax reports.
