The war of the Mircea Geoana – Marian Vanghelie camp and the party they belonged to not so far ago, the Social Democrat Party (PSD), is increasing in violence. As they keep announcing during the last few weeks, Mircea Geoana and Marian Vanghelie are focused on attracting members of the Parliament for a new left-wing party, an alternative to PSD. On Monday, January 19, the two of them had secheduled discussions with several independent MPs and former PPDD members, as stiripesurse.ro announced three days ago.
According to sources quoted by B1TV, the ones to join Mircea Geoana are Sorin Bota, PSD Senator of Maramures, Catalin Croitoru, PSD Senator of Bucharest, , Dumitru Pelican, PC Senator of Bucharest and Ion Prioteasa, President of the Dolj County Council.
They would be joined by PSD Deputy Radu Popa who already announced he would join Mircea Geoana, and possibly PSD Deputy Florentin Gust, who harshly criticized Liviu Dragnea and named him a traitor.
Referring to the movement of troops plotted behind the scenes by Geoana and Vanghelie as a sign of revenge, the Executive President of PSD Liviu Dragnea announced that he doubted eight or ten members of the Parliament of the Government arch that might vote for the censure motion announced by PNL.
“I would doubt eight or then MPs of all parties, from the information I gained so far.
Let us analyze like engineers do. In the case of UNPR, the main asset of this party is full respect to all agreements and I cannot see why they would do anything like this. PC, similarly, has no reason to leave the Government with PSD, because they have always been a part of the Government whenever we won the elections and they have no reason to start a new adventure. In my opinion, PLR would never attempt an alliance with PNL. (…) PSD members of the Parliament are already in a governing coalition, so the fact that would leave for an adventure of Geoana and Vanghelie… is impossible to happen in my opinion, except for two or three persons. (…)
I have doubts regarding eight to ten members of the Government arch”, Liviu Dragnea declared for the TV show “Meeting Point” on Antena 3.
I have no connection to the Alina Bica file
Dragnea also pointed out that he was unrelated in any way with the criminal charges brought against former Head of DIICOT, Alina Bica.
“I have no message for Marian Vanghelie, I want to avoid communication with him as much as possible, as I am a different kind of person. Even if what I say lacks anything spectacular, I have nothing to say to investigators, neither on money, neither on love. I never received money, I never gave money, I never intermediated money. I just watched carefully and surprisedly. No, I have nothing to reveal because there is nothing to reveal”, Dragnea declared for Antena 3, answering a question about an alleged relationship with Alina Bica and whether he had any messages for investigators and Marian Vanghelie concerning this topic, according to Agerpres.
Asked whether he had met Alina Bica while she was still leading DIICOT, Dragnea declared: “I do not know, perhaps we met one or two times at official receptions, I think. We never met at the party headquarters”.
