President Klaus Iohannis signed on Tuesday the decree for the appointment of Laurentiu-Mihai Stefan to the position of presidential advisor beginning January 26, the Presidential Administration informs.
A graduate of the Bucharest Faculty of Political Sciences, Laurentiu-Mihai Stefan has worked since 2004 as a political expert with the US Embassy, and has served since 1999 as an associate Professor at the Bucharest Faculty of Political Sciences. A doctor of political sciences since 2003. Between 2000 – 2005 he headed the Romanian Society for Political Science. He also worked as a political analyst.
On December 22, 2014 President Iohannis signed the first decrees appointing in office five presidential advisors: Dan Mihalache, Dan Muraru, Cosmin-Stefan Marinescu, Tatiana Niculescu Bran and Adrian-George Scutaru. On January 5, the head of state also signed the decree appointing Sergiu Nistor to the position of presidential advisor, while Leonard Orban, Elena-Simina Tanasescu and Mihaela Ciochina joined Iohannis’s team on January 14.
