The 156th anniversary of the Romanian Principalities Union: Interior Ministry officials decorated by President Iohannis

President Klaus Iohannis signed on Friday a decoration awarding decree on the occasion of the anniversary of the Romanian Principalities Union Day, with the awardees including General magistrate Ilie Botos and Romanian Police Quaestor-general Petre Toba.

According to the Presidential Administration, on the occasion of the 156th anniversary of the Romanian Principalities Union Day, “in sign of appreciation of the professional achievements and of the high professionalism proven in the fulfillment of the entrusted missions,” the head of the state bestowed the National Order of the ‘Star of Romania’ in the rank of Officer with military insignia on General magistrate Ilie Botos; the National Order of the ‘Star of Romania’ (photo)  in the rank of Knight with military insignia on Colonel (retired) Dan-Cornel Baranga; and the National Order of the ‘Star of Romania’ in the rank of Knight with civilian insignia on Police Quaestor-general Petre Toba, on Police Quaestor Nicolae Gheorghe and on Adela-Loredana Neagu – Interior Minister Gabriel Oprea’s head of office.

President Klaus Iohannis also awarded the National Order ‘Faithful Service’ in the rank of Officer with civilian insignia to Police Principal Quaestor Nelu Pop; the National Order ‘Faithful Service’ in the rank of Knight with military insignia to Major-general Mircea Olaru; the National Order ‘Faithful Service’ in the rank of Knight with civilian insignia to Police Quaestor-general Ioan Buda, Police Quaestor-general Tudor Danut, Police Chief-Quaestor Oprea Florea and Police Principal Quaestor Janica Arion-Tiganasu; the National Order ‘For Merit’ in the rank of Knight with military insignia to Brigadier general Ioan Bas, Brigadier general Ovidiu Vasilica and Colonel Nicolae Cornea; as well as the National Order ‘For Merit’ in the rank of Knight with insignia for civilians to Interior Ministry officials Elena Ciocan and Bogdan Tohaneanu.

The proposal for the award of the decorations was made by Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Gabriel Oprea.
