Teodorovici: Eximbank could be the new Development Bank

Talks on creating a development bank increasingly lean toward the Eximbank option, European Funds Minister Eugen Teodorovici stated for Agerpres.

“There are advanced talks for the creation of that development bank, a bank I believe and hope we can see set up in the first half of this year. Set up in the sense of being operational. The talks are advancing with the two state-owned banks – Eximbank or CEC Bank – more on the Eximbank side. Together with Public Finance Minister Valcov we are working on this idea and I hope sometime in the first half of this year we could talk about such a financial-banking institution in Romania,” Teodorovici said.
