The High Court of Justice decided on Monday that Viorel Hrebenciuc and Paltin Sturdza will be put on trial under preventive arrest, in the case concerning the illegal restitution of forests, while Ioan Adam will remain under house arrest and Tudor Chiuariu will remain under judicial control but he can leave the country on January 26-29.
The judges have upheld the preventive arrest measure against Dan Costin Bengescu and judge Ordog Lorand Andras too, the two being also involved in the case.
In the case of former MP Ioan Adam, placed under preventive arrest on 20 November 2014, the court has ruled that the preventive arrest measure should be replaced by 30-day house arrest, from January 26 to February 24.
The court also upheld the house arrest measure against Andrei Hrebenciuc, and has ordered that the preventive arrest measure against Iosif Kadas and the house arrest measure against Janica Poenaru and Ioan Sorin Iacob should be replaced by 60-day judicial control measures and the interdiction to leave the city.
Likewise, the court upheld the judicial control measure against Senator Tudor Chiuariu and Adam Craciunescu.
Former MP Viorel Hrebenciuc, his son Andrei Hrebenciuc, MP Ioan Adam, Senator Tudor Chiuariu and 13 other persons have been arraigned in this case.
