Companies in Romania and the UK may cooperate in defence and security industry, benefiting from the support of the two partner countries’ governments. That is the conclusion of a meeting held on Thursday, at the UK Embassy, in collaboration with the Association of British Defence, Security, Aerospace and Space Companies, the Ministry of Economy informs.
Participating in the meeting were the UK’s Ambassador in Bucharest, Paul Brummell (photo) and State Secretary in the Ministry of Economy, Commerce and Tourism Sorin Encutescu, coordinator of the national defence industry. The event enjoyed the presence of 29 relevant British companies, potential Romanian partners and representatives of the Romanian governmental institutions.
‘I am glad that you have the opportunity today to find out details about the British expertise in high-technology areas, such as communications, surveillance and counter-surveillance, radars and electronic warfare, as well as optical and navigation equipment,’ said Ambassador Paul Brummell quoted by Agerpres.
The discussions continued under the coordination of Sorin Encutescu at the Ministry of Economy, Commerce and Tourism, where representative companies of the Romanian defence industry unveiled part of their capabilities, in the perspective of some British investments in Romania.
