The city of Rasnov is ready to host the two events of the women’s ski jumping World Cup scheduled for February 7 and 8. World’s best three ski jumpers are among the 39 competitors of 12 countries, according to the organizers, the Romanian Ski Biathlon Federation (FRSB). The event is sponsored by OMV Petrom in a partnership with the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Municipality of Rasnov.
It is the second year in a row when Rasnov hosts the women’s ski jumping World Cup. Romania is represented by 17 years old Daniela Haralambie and 16 y.o. Bianca Stefanuta. For the younger athlete, this is the first participation in this top level competition.
Because of the mild weather at the beginning of this week that hindered the preparations of the hill, the organizers needed to use snow stocked in advance. About 400 cubic meters of snow from forest deposits were moved to prepare the K90 ski jumping hill in the Valea Carbunarii Olympic Sports Complex of Rasnov, near Brasov (central Romania), reads a release of the municipality quoted by Agerpres.
