Valcov: Development bank to be created within Eximbank for the financing of communes and cities

Finance Ministry Darius Valcov announced on Monday that work is being done on a project that would see the creation, within EximBank, of a development bank that would offer loans to mayoralties but also to companies.

“Also this year, at the level of the Finance Ministry, work is being done so that we would create, within EximBank, a development bank that would allow both you and companies to contract loans, in most part guaranteed by the state, in order to develop your localities or private companies respectively,” Minister Valcov told the mayors of Romanian communes.

The Finance Minister made the announcement at the 18th ordinary session of the General Assembly of the Romanian Communes Association, an event where European Commissioner for Regional Policy Corina Cretu also gave a speech.
