Microsoft File: Dinu Pescariu questioned again by DNA

The businessman Dinu Pescariu appeared on Wednesday morning at the headquarters of the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA), Romania TV reported. Pescaru came for yet another hearing in the “Microsoft file”, after he made several denunciations, showing that he had given bribe to several persons, including Dorin Cocos and Elena Udrea.

Dinu Pescariu came to DNA without being escorted by his lawyer. Dinu Pescariu’s confessions will be major exhibits in the case Elena Udrea is charged of bribe taking and influence peddling. Pescariu gave a detailed account on how millions of euro of bribes were pocketed by Dorin Cocos and his ex-wife.

Elena Udrea’s former husband Dorin Cocos is accused in this file of having pretended and received EUR 9,000,000 from Claudiu Florica and Dinu Pescariu so that, through Udrea, who at that time was Regional Development and Tourism Ministry and PDL Vice-President, he would grant the companies promoted by Florica Claudiu the signing and application of the Microsoft licences contract with the Ministry of Communications and Information Society.

Moreover, according to investigators, in the year 2010, Dorin Cocos, based on an agreement with Udrea, allegedly demanded from Gabriel Marin, manager of the company Omnilogic, the sum of approximately EUR 3,000,000, to unblock payments for the e-Romania contract. Gabriel Marin made another denunciation at DNA, pointing out that he had paid EUR 3,050,000 to Dorin Cocos, through Dinu Pescariu.

On his turn, Dinu Pescariu denounced Udrea, showing that she had demanded EUR 500,000 to “solve his legal issues”.
