Romanian e-commerce market to reach EUR 650 M in 2015

Experts estimate that the value of the Romanian e-commerce market will reach approximately EUR 650 M in 2015, generating significant growth in programming services.

According to a special survey, over 74 per cent of adults in urban areas own a smartphone, the experts forecasting in this context that the e-commerce market in Romania will grow to approximately EUR 650 M in 2015.

An iVox survey shows that 40 per cent of 18-year-olds have stated that they own two smartphones and most of them use their mobile phones while listening to music, watching TV or shopping.

The use of smartphones and tablets is more widespread among young people up to 35 years of age and among persons with higher education.

An 85 per cent growth in the number of smartphone users is estimated in the following period, generating a rise in the total volume of online sales.

The products that Romanians buy online mostly consist of house decorations and furniture (28 per cent), beauty products (19 per cent), clothing (19 per cent), health and wellness products (17 per cent), gifts, toys and games (16 per cent).
