Small steps for big highways : 10-km section of Transylvania highway to be built by Strabag-Straco

The JV SC Strabag SRL – SC Straco Grup SRL association will build the second section of the Brasov – Targu Mures – Cluj – Oradea highway as part of a RON 251.3 M contract (VAT not included), the National Highways and National Roads Company (CNADNR) informed earlier this week.

“CNADNR announces that the contract for section 2 – Ungheni-Ogra, km 4 to km 14 – of the Brasov – Targu Mures – Cluj – Oradea Highway was signed on February 24. Following the public procurement procedure (open tender), the contract was offered to the JV SC STRABAG SRL – SC STRACO GRUP SRL association (association leader – SC STRABAG SRL), and has a total value of RON 251,349,460.28, VAT not included,” CNADNR’s communiqué reads.

The project is financed from Cohesion Funds (85 per cent) and the state budget (15 per cent).

“The contract’s specific goal is the construction of the 10-km section 2 (Ungheni – Ogra) of the Brasov – Targu Mures – Cluj – Oradea Highway and the remedying of the possible defects of these works during the warranty period, in line with the provisions of the contract. The contract spans 60 months, of which 12 months for construction works and 48 months for the warranty period,” CNADNR informs.
