Avangarde poll: 89%of Romanians trust DNA’s investigations, Kovesi credited with 51% confidence

An Avangarde opinion poll measured the Romanians’ confidence in DNA’s investigations and in the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) chief Laura Codruta Kovesi. The results are spectacular.

Romanians approve the  DNA’s investigations in a proportion of 89% and the trust in Kovesi has grown to 51%, only second to President Klaus Iohannis – 75% and Raed Arafat – 71%. Meanwhile, the trust Romanians have in DNA is 69%.

At the same time, 71% of Romanians believe Elena Udrea is guilty as charged, but a similar share of 71% say that Dan Voiculescu’s case was a political one, Traian Basescu’s revenge.

Klaus Iohannis leads the ranking of Romanians’ confidence in personalities, according to the Avangarde opinion poll conducted from February 18 to February 26, 2015. The next places are taken by Raed Arafat and Laura Codruta Kovesi. Regarding the voting intension for political parties, PNL is first, on 40%.

According to the opinion poll, the personality Romanians most trust is Klaus Iohannis – 75%. He is followed by Raed Arafat – 72% and Laura Codruta Kovesi – 51%. Number four is Patriarch Daniel – 50% and number five is Sorin Oprescu – 45%.

The ranking continues with Calin Popescu Tariceanu – 44%, Mugur Isarescu – 43%, Victor Ponta – 40%, Dan Voiculescu – 28%, Mircea Geoana – 27%, Vasile Blaga – 25%, Corneliu Vadim Tudor – 21%, Dan Diaconescu – 20%, Traian Basescu – 15% and Elena Udrea – 8%.

The research was performed on a sample group of 900 adults in Romania and has a maximum margin of tolerance of +/-3.27%. The Avangarde opinion poll was presented on Antena 3 TV on Sunday.

In as far as the voting intention in the parliamentary election is concerned, PNL and the PSD-UNPR-PC Alliance would be the main winners.

Acceding to the survey, PNL has a voting intention of 40% and PSD-UNPR-PC 37%.

PLR would obtain 5%, UDMR – 5%, PRM – 4%, PMP – 3% and PPDD – 3%

Under the ‘Trust in institutions’ chapter, the fire fighters come first, on 91%, the Army  – second, on 83%, the Church – third, 73%, Presidency – 70%, DNA – 69% and SRI – 59%.
