The Calarasi Court had rejected Ioana Basescu’s appeal against the placement of a levy on her plot of land in the Nana rural town.
“The Court rejects the appeal filed by Ioana Basescu against the Ordinance No. 236/P/2014 issued by the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Hight Court of Cassation and Justice on February 16, 2015, in the case file No. 236/P/2014. The appellant must also pay 300 lei legal expenses to the state. Definitive”, it was written in the resolution on Thursday posted on the website of the Calarasi Court.
On July 4, 2014, the prosecutors from the High Court of Cassation and Justice decided to expand prosecution in the file having to do with the reconstitution of the property right and leasing of plots of land in the Nana rural town, in Calarasi County.
According to a release of the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice (PICCJ), back then sent to Agerpres, in continuing with the investigation, the prosecutors from the Section of Criminal Proceedings and Criminalistics on June 24 issued an ordinance expanding prosecution against suspects Tudorita Niculae, Florian Decu, Marius Neagu, Marian Dobre, Gheorghe Dobre, Georgica Stolea and Constantin Manea, based on such material facts they allegedly committed in relation to the crime of abuse of office, with a total of such 135 material facts being in question.
“Based on the evidence collected so far, it was found that, over 2005-2010, while they were supposed to abide by their responsibilities as members of the Nana locality Land Committee, they either intentionally missed the completion of some papers or completed them in the wrong manner in relation to the reconstitution of the property right over some plots of land claimed by several people, for the purpose of obtaining, either for themselves or for others, undue benefits, which caused damages to the state worth the value of the illegally returned land,” the Prosecutor General said.
