Fiscal Code draft finalized around March 18-20

Premier Victor Ponta announced that the Fiscal Code draft will be finalized by the government around March 18-20.

“I have informed my MP colleagues, I will also inform the parliamentary groups, that around March 18-20 we will finalize within the government the draft Fiscal Code which will leave for Parliament – the Senate being the Chamber of first notice – so that Romania’s most important public policy document this year – the Fiscal Code – will enter the Parliament’s debate and will be adopted at least six months before coming into force on 1 January 2016,” Ponta said.

On February 20 Ponta stated that he even considers adopting the Fiscal Code by having the government take responsibility for it if the Code were to be blocked in Parliament and at risk of not being adopted during this parliamentary sitting.
