Phil Hogan, the European Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, pays an official visit to Romania on March 12-13. The high official will meet Prime Minister Victor Ponta, Agriculture and Development Minister Daniel Constantin, as well as the members of the Romanian Parliament’s joint commissions for agriculture and European affairs. The meeting with Agriculture Minister Daniel Constantin will be followed by a joint press opportunity.
Commissioner Phil Hogan, Commissioner for Regional Policy Corina Cretu and Agriculture Minister Daniel Constantin will visit a project financed from European funds (the Suinprod Radic pig farm in Ratesti, Arges County). The European Commissioner for Regional Policy, Corina Cretu has arrived in Romania on Tuesday for an official visits that ends today. On Wednesday, she met the European Funds Minister, Eugen Teodorovici and was received by President Klaus Iohannis. ‘I hope you’ll have the opportunity to learn many interesting things about the way things are going on here,’ the head of state told the commissioner in the beginning of their meeting.
At the end of his visit in Romania, Commissioner Hogan will take part in the conference titled “Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion in Romania’s Rural Areas. The Contribution of the Rural Development National Program 2014-2020,” an event organized by the European Commission’s representation.
