A display of canine vigor in Predeal: The National Championship of Romanian Shepherd Dogs

More than 200 sheepdogs from the Romanian Shepherd breeds Raven, Mioritic (photo) , Carpathian and Bucovina will participate on Sunday in Predeal in the second edition of the National Championship for Romanian Shepherds and in the sixth edition of the show dedicated to these vigorous herd guarding dogs.

The leading breeders and kennel clubs from all over the country will be at the event, Sebastian Fleseru, one of the organizers, told Agerpres.

The contest features trials for the following age categories: puppies, three to six months; puppies, six to nine months; 9 – 18 months; 15 – 24 months; 15 months to eight year olds; and veterans aged over eight years. Males and females from each breed will compete separately.

The contest begins at 10:00 a.m., in the town’s sports field – market neighborhood, and is organized by the Romanian Kennel Club, the Raven Shepherd Kennel Club together with the Predeal Town Hall.
