Partial solar eclipse visible from Bucharest

The Moon will cover the Sun today. In Romania the phenomenon can be observed starting around 10.48 a.m. and will reach its peak around 11.56 a.m., lasting an average of 2 hours and 20 minutes. The degree in which the Sun will be covered will vary depending on the location the phenomenon is viewed from, that degree being smaller in southern regions and larger in northern regions. The percentage will range from 40 to 55 per cent according to specialists, thus making this a partial eclipse. Scientists however warn that the phenomenon should be observed only through special lenses because loooking at the Sun directly, even for a few seconds, can seriously damage the eyes.
