Romania had its own national pavilion at the March 22-25 International Food & Drink Event (IFE 2015) in London. 19 Romanian agrifood companies contributed to the exhibition, the Economy, Trade and Tourism Ministry (MECT) informed.
The national pavilion was organized by MECT in collaboration with the Association for the Promotion of Romanian Food (APAR). Romanian companies displayed products ranging from beef and chicken meat, processed meat, bakery and sweets, canned vegetables and fruits and candied fruits to dairy products, beer, etc.
The Romanian ambassador to the United Kingdom Ion Jinga visited the pavilion and discussed the production capacities, the export relations and strategies on the UK market and the expectations of the Romanian agrifood producers.
The British-Romanian bilateral trade amounted to 3.487 billion euros in 2014, up 6.32 percent. Romanian exports to the UK totalled 2.153 billion euros, up 6.09 percent. Approximately 112 million euros of these exports came from agrifood, which advanced 19 percent on a 2013 basis.
