In February new car sales grew by almost 21 pc year-on-year, to 6,281 units, the Driver Licenses and Vehicle Registration Directorate (DRPCIV) data published on Friday show.
Of the total new car sales, auto vehicles registered in February a 12.77 per cent year-on-year growth to 4,116 units, up from 3,650 units in the same period last year.
In what concerns the brands preferred by Romanians, Dacia continued to top the list with 1,275 units sold in the second month of 2015, up by 39.71 per cent year-on-year, followed by Skoda (455 units, +10.98 per cent), Volkswagen (339 units, +8.65 per cent) and Ford (245 units, -46.51 per cent).
The smallest sales were registered by the following brands: Lexus (7 units), Jaguar (5), Subaru (3), Bentley, Ferrari, Maserati and SsangYong (1 each).
