Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan pays official visit to Romania

The president of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan  pays an official visit to Romania on Wednesday, during which he will be welcomed by his counterpart, Klaus Iohannis and will meet Prime minister Victor Ponta.

President Klaus Iohannis will receive his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the Cotroceni Palace. Afterwards, the two presidents will hold private talks and then will talk officially in the presence of their staffs. The two heads of state are to issue a joint press statement at 12.30 pm.

Subsequently, the Turkish head of state will be at the Victoria governmental Palace for a meeting with Prime minister Victor Ponta. The two high officials will then sign several bilateral documents.

Following this event, Prime minister Ponta and President Erdogan will attend the Romania-Turkey Business Forum, at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania.

Likewise, the President of Turkey will meet the heads of the two chambers of the Parliament, Calin Popescu-Tariceanu and Valeriu Zgonea.

The day will end with an official dinner hosted by President Iohannis and his wife, Carmen, in honour of their guests, President Erdogan and his wife, Emine.
