Aurescu-Klimkin telephone conversation

Romanian Foreign Affairs Minister Bogdan Aurescu on Monday had a telephone conversation with his Ukrainian counterpart, Pavlo Klimkin, on which occasion the official of Kiev informed the dignitary of Bucharest that the procedures in Ukraine for the approval of the Agreement on the Small Border traffic are “very near completion,” informs a Romanian Foreign Affairs Ministry (MAE) press release remitted to Agerpres.

According to the cited source, the two ministers talked about the first necessary measures for implementing the agreement, “including about handing together the first small traffic permits within a joint visit to the common border and to the Romanian and the Ukrainian communities in its proximity.”

At the same time, the two dignitaries discussed the resumption of the activity of the Joint Committee in the area of national minorities, as well as the stage of implementing other decisions made on occasion of the visit in February. During the talks, they also assessed the prospects of implementing the Minsk Agreements of February, having underscored the importance of the complete implementing of their provisions, MAE points out.
