Romania’s President Klaus Iohannis on May 23 will be launching his “Primul pas” (The First Step) biography, a sequel to his book “Pas cu pas” (Step by Step), at the Curtea Veche Publishing House stand at the Bookfest international book trade fair in Bucharest, May 20-24.
Curtea Veche Publishing House reports that the new book will unveil backstage information from Iohannis’ 2014 presidential campaign and the first days of his term in office as Romania’s president. Iohannis’ previous book, “Pas cu pas,” released in late 2014, has sold 130,000 copies.
“After becoming the most wanted book in the history of the Gaudeamus educational book fair, with almost 8,000 copies sold at the 2014 edition of the fair, “Pas cu pas” by Klaus Iohannis became one of the most rapidly rising best sellers in the book rankings in Romania, having reached previously unheard of sale volumes, both in print and in digital format. Curtea Veche has received requests for translating it in Bulgarian, German, Hungarian and Dutch,” reads the release.
Curtea Veche Publishing House also points out that President Iohannis told the 2014 release of his “Pas cu pas” that he will support culture and be a president that is close to this field.
