Daniel-Constantin Horodniceanu, nominated to take over as DIICOT chief prosecutor

Justice Minister Robert Cazanciuc has nominated prosecutor Daniel-Constantin Horodniceanu to take over as chief prosecutor of the Directorate for Investigating Organised Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT). Horodniceanu is currently head of the DIICOT Iasi County Service.

The office is vacant since November 2014, when the ex-head of the institution, Alina Bica, was  placed under arrest for corruption deeds with damages worth of millions of euro.
