Three Romanian citizens back home from Yemen

Three Romanian citizens have arrived back in the country from Yemen on Thursday, via Djibouti, the Foreign Affairs Ministry (MAE) informed in a media release.

“They were evacuated from Yemen on April 6 and 7, with the support of the Romanian Embassy in Abu Dhabi. The ministry was permanently in contact with the authorities in the region and with the three Romanian citizens, through the embassy, throughout their travel from Yemen to Djibouti and to Romania. Two of the three Romanian citizens were also assisted by the offices of the International Organizations for Migration in Romania and in Djibouti, both upon their arrival in Djibouti and during the formalities for boarding on an airplane to Romania. The third Romanian citizen also got the support if his employer within the repatriation procedures,” the release mentions.

According to this document, 25 Romanian citizens and 3 family members were evacuated and repatriated from Yemen so far with the support of the Foreign Affairs Ministry.

”MAE continues its efforts for the safe evacuation of Romanian citizens from Yemen and keeps a permanent contact with them and with all the relevant authorities in the region,” the release also states.
