European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) President Henri Malosse will pay his first official visit to Romania on April 15-18. The agenda of the visit will include meetings with the Romanian President and Prime Minister and with other political leaders as well as with representatives of the civil society – employers’ associations, trade unions, students’ associations, NGOs, mass-media and bloggers.
The main topics that will be discussed during the visit concern economic growth, competitiveness, particularly in the energy, industry and infrastructure sectors, employment and the way the EESC works in Romania. Mr. Malosse previously visited Romania as president of the group of employers’ associations within EESC and of the section for employment, social affairs and citizenships.
The sites that President Malosse will visit include the Renault research center in Titu and the Romanian Revolution Museum in Timisoara. The visit will offer the possibility of discussing ways of combating poverty and lack of social cohesion in Europe, of stimulating regional development and of improving the relations between institutions and citizens.
