Electoral Law, parliamentary procedures for approving the Justice requests: President Iohannis invites parties and political groups to consultations on Monday

President Klaus Iohannis invites at the Cotroceni Palace on Monday the parties and political groups in Parliament for consultations referring to the stage of the electoral law and the parliamentary procedures for approving the Justice requests.

“On Monday, April 20, Romania’s President, Mr Klaus Iohannis, invites at the Cotroceni Palace the parties and political groups in Romania’s Parliament, for some consultations referring to the stage of the electoral law, including that of the necessary regulations for ensuring the elective franchise of the Romanians living abroad. On the consultations’ agenda there will also be discussions referring to the parliamentary procedures for approving the requests for criminal prosecution, detention, arrest or search on Parliament members, as well as other public interest topics,” the Presidential Administration informs.

According to the cited source, the consultations will start at 10,000 with the Social Democratic Party, after which the head of state will meet with the representatives of the National Liberal Party (at 11,00), the National Union for Romania’s Progress (12,00), the Conservative Party (15,00), the Hungarian Democratic Union of Romania (16,00) and the parliamentary group of national minorities (17,00).

The head of state announced in the conference held at 100 days into his mandate that after the Easter Holidays he would hold consultations with the parliamentary parties and groups.
