Madalina Cioc, PR & Admissions Officer: The International School of Bucharest invites you to Open Day for Primary School

The International School of Bucharest (ISB) would like to extend an invitation to prospective parents to participate in the Open Morning which will take place at the school on Tuesday, 28th April, from 8.30- 10.50am

Open morning provides an opportunity for parents, guardians, family and friends to visit classrooms and participate in lessons with their children. Parents of prospective students are also welcome.

The school timetable continues as normal and parents and visitors may stay in the classroom and observe the form teacher’s lessons – which maybe English, Math, Science or Humanities, or they may visit the children in their specialist lessons – Music, PE ICT, Romanian or Turkish if they are timetabled during the morning. Teachers will plan lessons as if for a normal day.

We feel it is important that parents observe how we organise our day, how our children learn and how we interact with the children. It is also invaluable for the children to welcome their parents in school.  Children are excited to share their experiences with parents and appreciate parents taking an interest in their school work. Children respond positively to support and encouragement from their parents.

It is also important that children see teachers and parents working together in partnership;school and home need to work together to maximise learning potential and enable children to achieve the very best they can.  Open morning is one example of how we can be seen to working together in this way.

In addition to open morning we also present information sessions and workshops throughout the year on relevant topics. ‘Reading and Phonics at ISB’, ‘Anti bullying’ and ‘Communicating with your Children’ are three recent examples of these. The workshops are well attended and provide a further opportunity to find out how children learn in school and how we manage behavioural issues.

Established in 1996, authorized by the Romanian Ministry of Education and accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS), associate member of Council of British International Schools (COBIS), approved EDEXCEL and Cambridge Examination Centre, International School of Bucharest provides a complete and high standard educational programme for students from ages two and a half to eighteen.

ISB operates on a new purpose-built campus situated in Bucharest, Sector 3, 1R Sos GaraCatelu.  Over 44 nationalities are represented among its 800 students.
