Eurostat: Romania, most significant construction works increase in EU

In February 2015, Romania registered the most significant month-on-month construction works increase, the data presented on Monday by Eurostat show.

In February construction works registered a 1.2 per cent month-on-month drop in the European Union and a 1.8 per cent month-on-month drop in the Euro Zone.

The highest monthly increases were registered in Romania (5.3 per cent), Poland (3.8 per cent) and Hungary (3.2 per cent), while the steepest drops were registered in Germany (-3.1 per cent), France and Portugal (-2.2 per cent each).

Year-on-year, construction works registered a 2.4 per cent drop in the European Union and a 3.7 per cent drop in the Euro Zone.

The highest annual increases were registered in Romania (19.5 per cent), Sweden (9.4 per cent) and the Czech Republic (6.2 per cent), while the steepest drops were registered in Germany (-8.1 per cent), France (-7.9 per cent) and Portugal (-4.5 per cent).
