A technical mission of the International Monetary Fund and the European Commission will be in Bucharest starting with May 19 through 26, on Tuesday said the Public Finances minister, Eugen Teodorovici, at the Parliament Palace.
‘Between 19 and 26 of May in Bucharest will be a technical mission, technical talks regarding the Tax Code and the implementation stage of the measures included in the programme with the IMF and the EC. There have already been some actions we have done after returning from Washington, measures that were quite belated in the programme with the IMF and the EC. You’ll learn about them. They should be discussed in the Government and endorsed,’ said Teodorovici (photo).
He also specified that in September the current agreement comes to an end and hopefully it would have a positive outcome.
‘Let’s close the agreement underway in good conditions and hopefully this year Romania will make this extremely important step. The May mission in Bucharest is of utmost importance. If things stand as we all wish, then in July a talk is possible in the IMF’s Board and then within the European Commission, following that in September when this agreement closes, we’ll have a positive result. Afterwards, we’ll see exactly which will be the discussions and our intentions as a country towards having a discussion on a new collaboration framework,’ the Public Finances minister concluded
