* Average lifespan of a company: 9 years and 9 months
The National Trade Registry Office (ONRC) published on Saturday the synthesis of its last 25 years of activity, on the occasion of the “Open Doors at the Trade Registry Office” event.
“From December 1990 to March 2015 the Trade Registry offices attached to county courts and the Bucharest Court conducted 17.55 million operations, of which: 2.6 million company registrations (14.81 per cent), 13.8 million mentions (78.75 per cent) and 1.13 million deregistrations (6.44 per cent),” ONRC General Director Silvia Calin-Mihalcea stated.
She pointed out that the profile of the Romanian entrepreneur is: male, 40-49 age bracket, urban resident, active in the trade, constructions and transportation domain.
“Of the total companies active on March 31 this year, over 64 per cent are limited liability companies that have, on average, one associate – most frequently a male aged 40-49 – and are mainly active in trade, constructions and transportation. Most of them (91.6 per cent) are micro-enterprises, having on average two employees, an average registered capital of RON 49,718 and an average turnover of RON 212,617. Most limited liability companies are registered in Bucharest and Cluj County,” the ONRC General Director added.
She explained that “the companies deregistered from the trade registry had an average lifespan of 9 years, 9 months and 22 days in the case of juridical persons and 5 years, 8 months and 16 days in the case of authorized physical persons, individual companies and family companies.”
The data also shows that ONRC registers 15.48 million physical and juridical persons “that had or have capacities within registered companies,” 4.95 million company headquarters, over 333 million entries concerning the domain of activity, as well as millions of entries concerning information included in registration documents and in documents bringing modifications after registration.
