Romania to participate with 20 companies in the 2015 edition of the International Defence Industry Fair in Istanbul

As many as 20 private and state-owned companies will represent Romania in the 12th edition of the International Defence Industry Fair -IDEF 2015, to take place in Istanbul, Turkey, over May 5-8, 2015, the Minister of Economy, Trade and Tourism (MECT) on Monday announced.

“In this year’s edition, Romania will have 20 companies to represent its defence industry, both private and state-owned, the delegation following to be headed by the Secretary of State with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Tourism, Sorin Encutescu. Moreover, the Romanian delegation will also include the leaders of several organisations operating in the defence field, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of National Defence,” showed the MECT release on Monday sent to Agerpres.

The Romanian delegation will also be accompanied by the Romanian Ambassador to Ankara, the military attaché and members of Romania’s General Consulate in Istanbul.

IDEF International Defence Industry Fair has been managed and executed by Turkish Armed Forces Foundation under the auspices and support of Turkish Ministry of National Defence since 1993. IDEF has played an essential role on the development of friendship and cooperation between participant countries.

IDEF, as a high technology defence industry fair, incorporating main defence industry branches and their subordinates, is an important  international marketing arena for defence industry companies. IDEF is the biggest defence industry fair in its region and one of the top five in the world with an increasing trend in terms of the number of participating countries, delegations and companies.
