The Vice-President of Caras Severin County Council, Ionesie Ghiorghioni (PNL), was caught by the National Anticorruption Directorate |(DNA) prosecutors while he was taking bribe in his Resita office.
The bribe was RON 20,000, representing 20% of the value of a contract that was going to be awarded to a certain person.
Mediafax quotes judicial sources as saying that the money was inside a magazine and handed over by the businessman who was going to be favoured.
DNA states in a communiqué posted on the institution website that DNA Timisoara were performing investigations on Tuesday in a penal case involving suspicions regarding the commission of corruption offences from January 2013 to March 2015.
