Country’s Supreme Defence Council to check magistrates if undercover officers

The Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM) has decided on Wednesday to notify the Country’s Supreme Defence Council (CSAT) with a view to check upon all magistrates in order to find out whether they are or not undercover officers with some intelligence service, a release by the CSM told Agerpres.

The CSM members have also agreed to submit the CSAT all of the statements in authentic form by the magistrates and prosecutors.

The CSM plenum has tackled on its Wednesday meeting the demand by the National Union of Romania’s Magistrates to make ‘the necessary steps’ with a view to check and eliminate eventual undercover officers with the magistracy and ask for clarifications from the Romanian Intelligence Service (SRI) in this respect.
