Schneider Electric launches Smart Panel, three-step energy management system

Schneider Electric has launched Smart Panel, an energy management system that generates sustainable savings in small- and medium-size buildings as well as office areas, commercial centres and hotels. Developed by Schneider Electric on the basis of the “Measure, Connect, Save” principles, Smart Panel is an easy-to-implement solution that answers the urgent need of lowering energy costs and of meeting the European norms for green buildings.

“Energy efficiency has become a decisive factor of differentiation when assessing a building. Against the backdrop in which 20 per cent of a building’s operational costs go into energy consumption, reducing the latter has become a priority, correlated with maintaining an optimal level of comfort and safety for the occupants. The Smart Panel system introduces a new level in energy management, simplifying the linking of buildings to significant energy savings and to a rapid amortisation of the investment,” Schneider Electric Romania Partner Division Vice President Petru Butu stated.

The new Smart Panel solution’s connectivity is ensured by the integration of the Enerlin’X communication system which offers a complete interface between the various electric appliances situated in distribution boards and the local electricity network. Ethernet is today the most widespread protocol in professional buildings, all computers being interlinked and having direct internet connection, offering the highest data transmission capabilities. Thanks to Enerlin’X, the distribution boards can be connected to Ethernet, just like any other device. Likewise, data from all Enerlin’X devices in the building are collected with the help of the Com’X 200 server, a smart data registry that is simple to install and configure, and uploaded to the internet database for use.
