Traian Basescu attacked Prime Minister Victor Ponta again. In a posting on Facebook, the former president came to the defense of his daughter Ioana and his son-in-law Radu Pricop and accused the Premier of making an obsession out of attacking him, asking Ponta rhetorically whether he remembers “the story about the digging of the pit and who falls in it.”
“The obsessed one… Obviously Victor Viorel has an obsession whose name is Traian Basescu. For several years now Viorel’s obsession has grown “sophisticated” becoming “Basescu behind bars.” He shouts it out loud at great gatherings attended by the “PSD people” on stadiums, in gyms, public squares and television channels, every time he has the opportunity. The obsessed one believes that he can materialize the dream of destroying his own obsession and my family. In his mind, clouded by hatred but also by power, he has reverted back to the days of Dej, Nikolschi, Ana Pauker and Brucan. Victor Viorel, I guarantee that you won’t succeed because I haven’t broken the law, nor did Ioana and Radu. And I am sure that most members of the judiciary no longer want to revert to political control. On the other hand, be careful Victor Viorel, do you remember the story about the digging of the pit and who falls in it?” Traian Basescu wrote on Sunday morning on his Facebook page.
Ponta: I am waiting for the breaking news when Basescu ends up next to Mrs. Udrea
Premier Victor Ponta launched harsh attacks against former president Traian Basescu on Friday evening on Romania TV, admitting that he is looking forward to the moment the former president will end up next to Elena Udrea in custody.
“Mr. Basescu notices himself. From time to time he comes up with statements. I got used to this kind of boorishness a la Basescu. I got used to it and I can continue to take it. Basescu for me is only a miserable memory of times we want to leave behind. I am looking forward to the breaking news when Basescu ends up next to Mrs. Udrea. I never talked with Mr. Nitu about Basescu’s cases,” Victor Ponta stated.
