The Romanian Naval Forces are organizing, until May 28, a multinational military exercise in Romania’s territorial waters and Black Sea international waters. Dubbed “Romanian Trident Poseidon 2015,” the exercise is a first of its kind. The Romanian naval forces will be joined by warships from other NATO states, from Bulgaria and the US, but also by forces belonging to the Land Forces Staff, the Air Forces Staff, the Dobrogea Emergency Response Inspectorate, Coast Guard forces, forces belonging to the Oil Services Group and to the Medical Directorate. In 2015 the joint activities will be more numerous, as currently several big multinational exercises are in progress, Mircea Dusa said on Monday, at the annual reunion of the defence attaches accredited in Bucharest. According to a Ministry of Defence communiqué, Minister Dusa also said the ministry’s priority for this year is to re-establish the Romanian Army’s operational capacity, while simultaneously fulfilling Romania’s commitments as a NATO, EU, UN and OSCE member state.
