Klaus Iohannis asks court to cancel ANI report

Klaus Iohannis has asked the court to cancel the National Integrity Agency (ANI) report in which the head of state was accused of incompatibility at the time he was Sibiu Mayor. The request has been filed at the Alba Iulia Court of Appeals and will be analyzed on Wednesday. The High Court has already cancelled the report early this year.

On January 21 the High Court of Justice decided that President Klaus Iohannis was not incompatible during the time he was Mayor of Sibiu. Thus, the High Court rejected ANI’s appeal and its decision was final.

ANI had established that Iohannis was incompatible during the time he represented the Sibiu City Hall within the Shareholders’ General Assemblies of the Water, Sewerage and Markets companies. Iohannis however attacked the ANI report at the Alba Iulia Court of Appeals and won in the court of first instance. ANI then filed an appeal against that decision.
