The National Dance Centre of Bucharest present, during June 5 – 7, the exhibition Modern and Contemporary Dance Museum, an unique initiative in Romania. The exhibition comes as a preparation for the launch of Romanian Dance Archive, due to take place in the autumn of the year 2015, the organizers of the event announced. The exhibition will be opened on Friday, June 5, at 7 pm, at CNDB (80-82, Marasesti Boulevard).
The Modern and Contemporary Dance Museum is a documentary – experimental exhibition initiative that intends to draw the attention of the audience on the research of the history of modern and contemporary Romanian dance, focusing on representative choreographers.
The concept of the Modern and Contemporary Dance Museum, initiated by CNDB, is based on the premise of the active writing of their own history, not recorded so far, on the pattern of other similar Western initiatives, such as the dance museums created by MoMA New York, Tate Modern and the National Centres of Choreography in Rennes and Bretagne.
Created as a dynamic installation of video projections and brand new archive materials / documents, the Modern and Contemporary Dance Museum covers the period 1927 – 1996 and is structured in three parts: brand new screenings, dance cinema, reenactment.
The exhibition will remained open until Sunday, June 7, during 7 – 9 pm.
