Protest in Victoria Square demanding Premier’s resignation

About 100 people took to the Victoria Square in front of the Government Palace, demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Victor Ponta, carrying placards with anti-government messages, and tricolor flags, Agerpres informs.

The messages on the placards read “Resign!”, “Ponta step down right away!”, “My name is Paste. Copy Paste” and the people chant slogans against the Prime Minister.

Another rally is underway in the same area, organized by the Romanian Ecologist Party on environmental grievances, with the about 100 protesters standing in front of the “Grigore Antipa” Museum of Natural Science.

Traffic in the area was not disrupted by the two protests and Gendarmerie personnel is monitoring the crowd.
