The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has announced on Tuesday the appointment of Matteo Patrone as its new director for Romania.
Patrone will take on July 1 the position of James Hyslop, who has been appointed as EBRD’s London-based director for municipal infrastructure and environment.
Before his position in Romania, Patrone was EBRD’s country director in Serbia since 2012. During his office, the bank invested more than one billion euros in Serbia, including 450 million euros in 2014.
Romania is ranked sixth in terms of EBRD investments, with 600 million euros in 2014 and more than seven billion euros overall. The bank has also syndicated 14 billion euros as financing sources for the country.
