The Festival of Embassies, an unprecedented event on Bucharest’s cultural stage and the most important project in South East Europe, an event celebrating cultural diplomacy worldwide, will take place on September 1-5. The event will be at its debut and open to the wide audience. For four days, various locations in downtown Bucharest will host a series of artistic events and moments that will make the capital a destination of multiculturalism, diversity, visual arts (painting, multimedia installations, experimental art and contemporary performance, photography, film), music, dance, gastronomy, handicrafts, and the cultural and diplomatic heritage of the countries represented through embassies in Romania. Over 50 embassies are expected to take part in the event, representing six continents, staging specific cultural moments that will give visitors the chance to travel around the world from the comfort of their own city, and transforming Bucharest into the azimuth of cultural tourism, contributing to the reinvigoration of local culture as well as enhancing the Romanian capital’s prestige and attractiveness.
