ASF sets up Financial Studies Institute

The Financial Supervisory Authority’s (ASF) Council has approved the setting up of the Financial Studies Institute (ISF) through the merger of the Insurance Management Institute and the Insurance Institute, an ASF communiqué shows.

According to the ASF, the institute’s goal is to come up with surveys and research in the financial domain, to devise legislative proposals, technical norms and professional principles for the financial markets, to organize training competitions, to perfect and train specialists who work in the financial domain, as well as to handle information programs. The statute of the Financial Studies Institute was also approved on Tuesday.

The ASF Council convenes every week in order to decide on measures that have to be adopted for the proper functioning and efficient supervision of non-bank financial markets, of these markets’ participants and operations.

The Financial Supervisory Authority (ASF) is the institution that authorises, regulates, supervises and controls the entities active on the Romanian non-bank financial market.
