Continental Timisoara to supply tyres for Jaguar cars

One of the world’s biggest international automotive tyre suppliers and one of the world’s main tyre producer, Continental, will supply Ultra High Performance (UHP) tyres to equip Jaguar passenger vehicles. According to ziuadevest.ro, the Timisoara-based company of the German group will produce and supply tyres for the XE model made in Great Britain. This partnership permits to the company a consolidation of its operations in Romania, focussing on high value-added goods.
‘The new partnership is extremely important for the development of our activity in Romania, being a confirmation of the quality of the products we make here’, said Klaus Ohlwein, CEO Continental Anvelope Timisoara. ‘We have a tradition of 15 years in the production of tyres, and that allows us to supply to Jaguar our models made in Timisoara. In the future we will continue to improve the production process so that we can expand our range of tyre and continue with the consolidation of the partnership of this premium brand’.
Within the partnership, Continental Anvelope Timisoara will supply 15,000 tyres – the ContiPremiumContact 5 and ContiEcoContact 5 models – starting this year, after Jaguar will test them at the MIRA autodrome in the UK. The tyres will equip the Jaguar passenger vehicles sold on European and global markets.
